Genesis Holds Nursing Recruitment Reception

Davenport, IA - Graduating nursing students will have an opportunity to explore the many career opportunities with Genesis Medical Center (GMC) by attending a special reception Saturday, February 28. All area senior-nursing students are invited to the event, scheduled for 1–3 p.m. in the Adler Health Education Center in the lower level of the Genesis Heart Institute, 1236 E. Rusholme, Davenport. Refreshments will be served and senior nursing students who attend can win door prizes. The grand prize will be a $700 gift certificate to Eagle Ridge Inn & Resort in Galena, IL.

This informal session will give graduates a chance to learn more about nursing at Genesis. Directors, nurse managers and staff will be available to share information about the clinical clusters, and to discuss nursing practice at GMC. At GMC, new nurses receive a comprehensive orientation under the guidance of a preceptor. A newly revised shared governance policy emphasizes nursing decision-making at the patient care level. And GMC's Professional Development Program recognizes expertise, certification and advancing education through salary differentials. A number of other initiatives and practices combine to make GMC an exciting and rewarding place to enter the nursing profession.
