Rick’s House of Hope Kicks Off Fall With Annual Banana Split Party
Davenport, IA - Rick's House of Hope will host it’s fifth annual Giant Banana Split and Fall Kick-Off Party on Aug. 18 at 6 p.m.
A 20-foot long banana split will highlight the event to introduce families to the services available from Rick’s House of Hope, a grief and trauma recovery center for children. There will be tours of the facility and a "meet-and-greet" with staff.
Rick’s House of Hope provides support, understanding and compassion through its programs for young people and their families during painful periods of trauma or traumatic loss.
Groups offered include Rainbow Club Grief Support Group, Healing Hearts Divorce Support Group, Club W.A.M. for children who have had a loved one diagnosed with a mental illness and I Feel Better Now, a trauma intervention group.
The fall schedule of support groups will begin Aug. 25.
Rick’s House of Hope -- named in memory of the Reverend Rick Johnson, Founder of The Prairie and River Spiritual Resources -- is a division of the Genesis Medical Center Spiritual Care Department.
