Genesis Offers Oct. 19 Cholesterol Screenings At 3 Locations
DAVENPORT, Iowa – The higher your blood cholesterol level, the greater your risk for developing heart disease or having a heart attack. The most accurate test is the lipoprotein profile, which is done after fasting.
The lipid protein profile is considered to be more comprehensive and reliable than finger stick tests that do not require fasting.
In mid-October, the labs of Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus and Metropolitan Medical Laboratory will offer reduced-cost comprehensive blood panel tests for cholesterol and lipids, and 12 other chemical tests. Included in the chemical tests is a blood sugar functions test for diabetes.
The screenings will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, 6-9 a.m. Cost is $20 (check or cash) at these locations:
- Genesis Wellness Center, (inside the Y) 3800 Tanglefoot Lane Bettendorf.
- Genesis, Illini Campus, Larson Center, 855 Illini Drive, Silvis.
- Genesis, DeWitt, 1118 11th St., DeWitt.
