Genesis Education Department Presents Three Events
DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Genesis Medical Center Education Department is presenting three conferences and events in October and November.
The ninth annual Genesis Respiratory Care Conference will be held Friday, Oct. 26 at the Adler Health Education Center of the Genesis Heart Institute.
The respiratory conference is intended to provide health care professionals with information on the rapidly changing field of pulmonary care. Speakers will include Vickie Pyevich, M.D., pediatric cardiologist with Genesis Medical Center and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Zahi Zeidan, M.D., medical director of the Neonatology Intensive Care Unit at Genesis Medical Center.

The other two upcoming events are Myofascial Release 1 on Saturday, Oct. 13 and Recognizing the Specialty of Medical Surgical Nursing on Friday, Nov. 2.
Myofascial Release 1 is a hands-on course in analysis and treatment of musculoskeletal imbalances that influence posture and movement. The class is intended for physical therapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists and other licensed professionals. Theresa Schmidt, MS, owners of Educise Resources, Inc., of Massapequa, N.Y., will present the class.

Recognizing the Specialty of Medical Surgical Nursing is a program designed to highlight the clinical specialty of medical surgical nursing by presenting topics pertinent to the care of hospitalized medical surgical patients. Keynote speaker will be Doris Greggs-McQuilkin, past president of the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses.
Cost for the nursing program is $99.
