Genesis At Home
Consolidating a full menu of services for seniors
There’s no place like home.
When health problems arise and living at home becomes more of a challenge, the many services of Genesis at Home can help you stay in your home and live as independently as possible.
Now, you have the ease of navigating our full menu of senior services just by calling one number any time day or night -- (563) 421-HOME.
"We're excited to announce the consolidation of our five existing home care business units into Genesis at Home to deliver a more coordinated system of care," says Michael Hamaker, Executive Director of Genesis Home Health Services.
"This will enable patients and families to reach us 24 hours a day through a single source --one phone number staffed round-the-clock-- that will link them to the Genesis services that will best meet their unique home care needs. We believe one number to call and a single intake department will ultimately provide better service to our clients."
From nursing and hospice care to home medical equipment, Genesis at Home brings a century-long legacy of experience and the distinction of ranking as the state of Iowa's largest home health care provider. The entities of Genesis at Home include:
Visiting Nurse Association
Genesis VNA and its predecessors have been at the leading edge of keeping people healthy and independent in their homes for more than a century. In 2005, it was one of the first in Iowa to experiment with telemedicine. In 2007, Genesis VNA and Hospice was the only home health agency in the region to make the top 100 list of home health agencies.
The VNA offers a cost-effective alternative to hospitalization or long-term care and works with families, physicians and other health providers to create a unique care plan. As a result, our patients leave the hospital earlier; enjoy a smoother transition to home; and, maintain independence while receiving quality care.
With an average daily census of 1,100 patients, VNA staff serves an 11-county region from offices in Davenport and Clinton, Iowa and Silvis, Illinois. The VNA health care team includes registered nurses, specialists in pediatrics, wound and IV care, home care aides, physical and occupational therapists, medical social workers and staff providing home and community-based services.
Hospice care and hospice house
At the end of life's journey, Genesis VNA and Hospice also provides hospice nursing care and support ranging from spiritual care, bereavement counseling and homemaking for patients in homes, nursing homes and hospitals.
In addition, it offers the region's only freestanding hospice house. The Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf provides a beautiful home-like setting for patients with a terminal diagnosis. The hospice house has 16 private rooms and amenities like a meditation room and chapel, family facilities, pet visitation, a family cafe and two spas. These comforts of home help meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families during the final stages of life.
