Andy Andresen, M.D., Program Director Andrew A. Andresen, MD, ABFP, Program Director
Dr. Andresen is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine and a graduate of the Davenport program.  He served the citizens of Durant, IA and surrounding communities as a full-time family physician and part-time emergency room physician before joining the program.  He is past Chief of Staff at Genesis Medical Center. 
Dean A. Bunting, M.D., ABFP

Dean A. Bunting, MD, ABFP, Associate Program Director

Dr. Bunting is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine where he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, and a graduate of the Davenport program.  He has a practice at the Genesis Family Medical Center Blue Grass Clinic.  He is the Faculty Coordinator for the community-based clerkship and the Teaching Scholars Program for the University of Iowa.  He is Medical Director at Manor Care Nursing Home.

Gena L.R. Benoit, M.D., ABFP Gena L.R. Benoit, MD, ABFP, Faculty Physician
Dr. Benoit is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine and a graduate of the Davenport program.  She has provided clinical instruction for the University of Iowa family medicine students, primary care community based students and MECO students. Before joining the faculty, Dr. Benoit was in private practice in Bettendorf, IA. She is the Medical Director at the Kahl Nursing Home.
Stephen Sorensen, M.D. ABFP Stephen Sorensen, MD, ABFP, Director of Clinic Operations and Quality
Dr. Sorensen is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine and a graduate of the Davenport program.  Following graduation, he practiced as an emergency room physician in Grinnell, Maquoketa and Muscatine.  He served the citizens of Davenport and surrounding communities as a full-time family physician prior to joining the faculty.  He is also a Clinical Professor at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and Medical Director at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.  He serves as Medical Director of the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Keri Mounce, MD

Dr. Mounce is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine and a graduate of the Davenport program.  She previously worked in Fort Collins, CO, in private practice and urgent care.  She has a practice at the Genesis Family Medical Center Blue Grass Clinic.  She coordinates the summer MECO program through the University of Iowa.

Mike Wallace, MD

Dr. Wallace graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and did his residency training in Fort Collins, CO.  He previously worked in Fort Collins, CO, in private practice and urgent care.  He joins the faculty teaching residents and seeing patients in our Family Medical Center.

Dr. Jones graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his residency training at the Davenport program.  He joins the faculty in resident education and sees patients at both the Genesis Family Medical Center in Davenport and Blue Grass.

Katrina Cannon, MD, Geriatrician

Katrina Cannon, MD, Geriatrician

Dr. Cannon graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and did her residency training in Internal Medicine at Texas A&M University.  She completed her fellowship in Geriatrics, K30 Iowa Scholars in Clinical Investigation Program, VA Quality Scholars Program and Master of Science in Clinical Investigation, all in Iowa City.  She leads the residency Geriatrics education program. 

 

Trish Halligan, CPMSM Trish Halligan, CPMSM, Residency Coordinator
Ms. Halligan is our Residency Coordinator.  She is a member of the National Association of Medical Staff Services and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Trish coordinates all clinical rotations, credentialing, and supervises recruiting and interviewing.  She is the Educational Coordinator to the University of Iowa, coordinating primary care rotations for M3 & M4 students, community-based, and MECO students.
Mark Jones, Pharm.D.

Mark Jones, Pharm.D.   
Dr. Jones received a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Washington State in 1973 and his Pharm.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 1975. Dr. Jones completed his Clinical Pharmacy Fellowship at the University of Iowa. He has an appointment in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Iowa. Dr. Jones is responsible for teaching drug management and pharmacotherapeutics.

 

Rhonda McInroy, MS, LMHC Rhonda Mclnroy, MS, LMHC
Ms. Mclnroy received her Master of Social Work from the University of Iowa in 1989. She has worked in hospital social work, as an EAP counselor, and as a consultant for local health agencies. Rhonda is also an adjunct professor at St. Ambrose University. She sees patients at Family Medical Center and is responsible for teaching behavioral sciences, providing patient counseling and coordinating the community medicine curriculum.

Too numerous to list here, the residency program is supported by an enthusiastic volunteer faculty in all other departments to form a coordinated and integrated teaching plan for Family Medicine.
