Open communication between couples, physicians and other health care professionals is encouraged. Classes are available at a variety of times to work with your busy schedule.

Refresher Childbirth Preparation Classes

This refresher Childbirth Preparation class is especially designed for expectant parents who have previously taken a Childbirth Preparation class. Parents will review the process of labor and birth as well as practice the breathing and relaxation techniques. Preparing the sibling(s) for the new baby will also be discussed.

Breastfeeding Basics

If you're an expectant parent or a new parent wanting more information on breastfeeding, this class is designed especially for you. Breastfeeding is a healthy and increasingly popular way to feed a baby, yet it isn't always a trouble-free process. Research has shown parents who attend breastfeeding classes have a more realistic understanding of the nursing relationship and a higher success rate. Husbands or support persons are encouraged to attend with the expectant or new mother.

Baby Basics

This two-week series is designed for the new parent, but also serves as a refresher for the experienced parent. Parents adopting a child or grandparents wishing to refresh their baby care skills may also attend these sessions.

Grandparenting Update: Linking the Generations

Has childbirth seemed to have changed since you had your children? If the answer is yes, you're not alone. Often, expectant grandparents feel this way. It is sometimes hard to understand modern attitudes and medical technology. Some things have changed, but one thing remains the same - your children still need your love and support during pregnancy.

Learn how you can be more supportive during this special time.
