Birthing Services

More than 3,200 babies, or 70 percent of the total births each year in the Quad Cities, are born at the birthing centers at Genesis’ Davenport and Illini campuses.  At both hospitals, patients are treated to the comforts of home, the amenities of a hotel, advanced technology and tender-loving care from medical experts who involve families in the miracle of birth.

Spacious birthing suites include wood floors, armoires with TVs and VCRs, whirlpool tubs, hair dryers and adjustable lighting and music.  Most important, a dedicated medical and nursing staff’s experience in delivering the Quad Cities’ newest residents shows in all they do.

The Davenport and Illini campuses also offer the latest technology and care for high-risk and sick babies.  Illini has a Level II Special Care Nursery.  The Davenport campus has the region’s most advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or NICU, that treats approximately 250 babies each year in a family-friendly setting.  The NICU at Davenport is a Level II Regional Center that offers the medical support of not only a local neonatologist on site, but the support of the neonatology staff at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic.
