Volunteer Opportunities at DeWitt and Westwing Place
We are a 13-bed rural hospital with a 76-bed long-term care facility (nursing home). Our nursing home is also an Eden Alternative registered facility. We, the staff and residents, wish to invite you to be part of our home by volunteering. Volunteering in a nursing home is a heartwarming experience for any age. You will have the opportunity to get to know our home very well. Each day as you enter our doors, smiling faces will greet you and let you know that we care about you and appreciate your time. For youth volunteers and young at heart volunteers, you may be volunteering to play beanbag toss games or go to the zoo with our residents on a bus outing. Our teenagers help keep us updated to sporting events and helping out to care for our birds and cats. Senior volunteers actively take part in our newsletter mailing and assisting our residents with their card and letter reading needs.
Whether you are eight or eighty, Westwing Place and Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt welcome you to share your time, caring and talents.
Please contact Melodie Schutt, Activity Director/Volunteer Coordinator at 563-659-4215 or schuttm@genesishealth.com
