MercyOne Genesis is pleased to enter into preferred provider relationships with high performing Assisted Living providers in the Quad City area. The partnerships between MercyOne Genesis and these providers allow us to work together for a superior level of quality service to enable our mutual customers to maintain as healthy a lifestyle as possible.
By combining the many outpatient services of MercyOne Genesis with the excellent residential services of these assisted living partners, residents and families of these communities can have high confidence in the quality of life, quality of care, and proactive support available that is not available in every assisted living community.
What is assisted living?
An assisted living residence is a long-term senior care option that provides personal care support services such as meals, medication management, bathing, dressing and transportation.
Each state has different licensing and regulation requirements for assisted living providers, which affects the particular services offered at that community. For example, some assisted living facilities are attached to, or share a campus with, a skilled nursing facility. This means these types of communities can provide more advanced medical care.
But, in general, assisted living communities provide basic medical monitoring as well as daily activities and care. Activities of daily living (ADLs) include dressing, eating, mobility, hygiene, bathing, toileting, using the telephone, and shopping.
Here are some of the basic services offered in assisted living:
- 24-hour supervision and security
- Daily meals
- Basic housekeeping
- Laundry
- Health and exercise programs
- Social programs
- Transportation
- Access to medical services

What is the MercyOne Genesis partnership?
These assisted living providers have agreed to partner with MercyOne Genesis to promote and prefer MercyOne Genesis home health, palliative care, home medical equipment and hospice services within their communities.
While residents always maintain the right to choose their provider, this partnership makes it easy for residents, families, and caregivers to have a consistent partner to meet care needs.
MercyOne Genesis patients can be assured that MercyOne Genesis staff can continue to be connected with them as we partner with their assisted living community to ensure ongoing care needs are met. In many cases, a MercyOne Genesis Nurse Practitioner may be available to do house calls and see patients within their home, and avoid costly transportation and challenging logistics to go to a physician’s office. his is a tremendous benefit for residents and their families.
