Tobacco Cessation

While tobacco use can be VERY difficult to overcome, it is worth the effort, as the benefits outweigh the difficulties.

  • lung disease
  • heart disease
  • cancers
  • money
  • health risks to others
  • healthier lifestyle

Quitting smoking, or other tobacco use, is the most difficult addiction to overcome. There are 2 addictions involved:

  • physical addiction to nicotine
  • psychological addiction to the act of using tobacco

Our program addresses both types of addiction:

  • help determine personal reasons for quitting
  • show ways to deal with urges
  • help determine which nicotine replacement therapy will work best for individuals
  • teach ways to deal with a relapse
  • demonstrate methods of stress management

Our Tobacco Cessation Program is:

  • 4 session program
  • once a week for 4 weeks
  • 1 to 1 1/2 hour sessions
  • cost is $80 for all 4 sessions
  • some insurances cover the cost, or at least part of it
  • facilitator is an ex-smoker

Call 563-421-6991 for session or class times and to register.
