Total Joint Education Class
"It's A Joint Effort"
Patients attending the "It's a Joint Effort" educational class will learn what they will experience before, during and after surgery. The key to this class is ensuring that patients know what to expect. Patients who understand their role in recovery will likely recover more quickly.
- You will meet with nurses, occupational and physical therapists.
- You will learn about anesthesia.
- You will learn how to prepare for recovering after surgery and will be able to ask questions about your upcoming surgery and who the people are that you can contact for assistance.
- We do not show a video of the surgery at this class.
Patients attending this class have found it to be informative, and had many of their questions answered. Some patients have reported back that the class helped to reduce their anxiety about having their total joint surgery.
We hope that you will seriously consider attending this class. It is a Joint Effort!
New for 2024
All classes will be held inside the main hospital. Please park in the South Parking Ramp located at the corner of East High Street and Genesis Drive. Parking in this location has two major advantages:
- It is under cover. It will protect you and your car from heat, rain, ice, and snow.
- It is very close to the meeting room. Park in the ramp and enter the medical center directly from the ramp. No need to go outside. Take the elevator or stairs to level 1. Conference Room A and B is in a short hallway directly to your left.
