Whether you're expecting your first child or your fourth, you'll find classes just for you at MercyOne Genesis. Count on our experienced, helpful Birth Center educators to help you lay the foundation for a healthy pregnancy, prepare for childbirth, learn how to care for your newborn and more.

  • Baby Basics Class - IA

    This class discusses newborn care following delivery, what to expect during your post-partum stay for mom and baby, security measures, newborn medications and procedures, rooming-in, and advantages of breastfeeding.

  • Basic Training for New Dads

    Basic Training for New Dads is a unique program that brings "rookie" fathers-to-be together with "veteran" recent dads.

  • BirthCenter Tour - IA

    A tour of the Davenport BirthCenter facility.

  • Breastfeeding Basics - IA

    A class to help parents learn about breastfeeding and have a more realistic understanding of the breastfeeding relationship.

  • Childbirth Preparation - Davenport

    Not your mother's lamaze class - this class focuses on birthing a baby in today's world! The series of classes covers labor and birth, including comfort management using medications, non-drug pain management, support person's role and c-sections.

  • Comprehensive Childbirth Sessions - Silvis, IL

    All aspects of labor, birth relaxation techniques as an alternative to medication during labor, as well as information on medication to relieve active labor discomfort. We will cover postpartum care also.This class is available at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, Illinois.

  • Sibling Preparedness Course
