What should I expect during my ultrasound?
Most exams are performed lying face up on a padded exam table. To begin the test, a thick, warm gel will be applied on the skin of the area of the exam. To create the moving images, your technologist uses a hand-held transducer and glides it over the area begin examined. After the test, the gel is easily removed with a dry cloth. Allow 30-60 minutes for you exam.
