MercyOne Genesis Hospice Volunteer Services
MercyOne Genesis Hospice provides a rich opportunity for people to volunteer!
Volunteers are the back-bone of the MercyOne Genesis Hospice Program. Our volunteers are dedicated to providing respite and companionship to Hospice patients and families. Volunteering may include direct patient contact or non-patient contact. Potential volunteers complete an application to help determine how they would like to become involved with MercyOne Genesis Hospice.
Some volunteers prefer to assist MercyOne Genesis Hospice by working in the office - answering the phone or providing assistance with clerical needs. Some volunteers prefer the idea of working directly with patients and families. Some volunteers wish to provide prayer shawls for patients or cookies for patients at the Holidays or patients/families at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Volunteering may be done in patient's homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities or at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Volunteers attend training tailored to how they wish to volunteer and then are able to become part of the team providing care.
If interested, please complete our Hospice Volunteer Application.
