PROVIDER Requirements
Current training in Basic Life Support is strongly encouraged.
A basic understanding of EKG interpretation is necessary. Participants need to read all materials prior to starting the ACLS course.
ACLS is an effective method of providing advanced emergency cardiac care that utilizes a standard body of knowledge and clinical skills developed by the American Heart Association.
Objectives
- Recognize the purpose of the ACLS provider course as education of healthcare professionals who manage cardiac arrest or near-arrest situations within the course of their jobs.
- Demonstrate a firm working knowledge of the ACLS material by participating in the core cases of the ACLS course, along with the CPR- D and written exam stations.
- Demonstrate decision-making and leadership capabilities as a team leader.
