I fall in love with different aspects of my job all the time. I love helping people live their best life. It is not always about prescribing medication to help. Sometimes it is about listening to your patient, educating them about lifestyle choices, and even alternative therapies. I believe in a proactive approach to healthcare as well as being able to be quickly reactive when the body is not in homeostasis.

I originally went to college with the thoughts of becoming a Marine Biologist. When I realized that I live in the Midwest, I decided that probably was not the best plan! Biology was my absolute favorite class in high school and I knew I wanted to do something in the science field. I had an amazing teacher at UNI who was a nurse midwife. She inspired me to become a nurse and later a nurse practitioner. If you ask my sister, she will say that I have always taken care of everyone around me so she was not surprised at my career choice. I have always treated my patients the way I would want my family treated. That philosophy has never failed me.

Areas Of Interest

I am in love with surgery. I love the hands on approach. To watch a skilled surgeon work is fascinating, and to know that you helped a patient in need is very fulfilling.

I have two amazing children that keep me busy! I love to travel as well as spending time with friends and family. I am a fire sign and love the summer sunshine and heat! I work hard on increasing my vitamin D levels by spending as much time as possible it the sun. I am a huge football fan cheering on my son, my beloved Wisconsin Badgers, and the Green Bay Packers. I was born in Wisconsin and my love of that state runs deep.
