I'm very fortunate that over the last two decades I've been given the privilege of caring for many patients and families here in the Quad Cities area. Now I'm equally fortunate to be in a position to pass along what I've learned to new Family Physicians just getting started in their career.

Every patient deserves to be heard and treated as an individual. As Family Physicians, we are at our best when we spend the time to get to know each of our patients and how we can best serve their needs.

Areas Of Interest

All areas of Family Medicine bring their own level of reward. I also have a special interest in caring for patients who are in need of Hospice or Palliative Care.

Personal life:
With two teenagers at home, my free time is spent supporting the many activities that our children have chosen to enjoy! As a family, we often find ourselves outside, as we enjoy swimming, biking, camping, and especially cooking outside in cast-iron.

Dr. Sorensen is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine and a graduate of the Davenport residency program. Following graduation, he practiced as an emergency room physician in Grinnell, Maquoketa and Muscatine. He served the citizens of Davenport and surrounding communities as a full-time family physician for 8 years prior to joining the faculty. He is also a Clinical Professor at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He is currently the Family Medicine Residency Program Director.
