When people come to see me, they have had or are going through something that has had a significant impact on their life. To be able to work with someone and help make some aspect of what they are dealing with a little easier, a little better, or to be able to move with less difficulty or pain, is a pleasure.

I believe the patient, family, and physical therapist are a team working to help the individual improve and meet their needs. Getting to know patients and their needs are critical to the success of the individual's physical therapy. If the patient does not understand why I am asking them to do something, it is hard for them to follow through. If I do not understand where the patient is coming from, it is hard for me to give them activities and advice that will work and have a meaningful impact for them.

Areas Of Interest

My interests in physical therapy include working with patients with neurologic and vestibular (dizziness) diagnoses. I also enjoy working in the aquatic environment with all types of problems ranging from weakness, musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, balance, and neurologic problems. I have worked with patients with neurologic diagnoses such as stroke, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's, balance problems, or multiple sclerosis throughout my entire career. Since 2000, I have also worked persons with dizziness and balance disorders that are vestibular in origin. Aquatics have also spanned my entire career.

I come from a very large family and have 3 children of my own. When not involved in family functions, I enjoy gardening, working in my yard, and reading.
