Emaad Basith, MD

I believe that healing others is a great responsibility, and I am humbled to have been given the opportunity to take care of others. I believe every patient should be treated like a family member. When I see my patients in the hospital, I think about their family members who would be worried about them and I imagine my own family in their place. I want all my patients to feel like they're always receiving the best care possible.

I actually wanted to be a teacher when I was younger, but as I continued along my medical career I realized I could use my love for teaching in medicine to help teach my patients more about their medical conditions. It's hard to treat a problem if you don't understand it. I find a lot of patients go through the motions of taking their medications and going through medical treatments without knowing how it will help them. But once they understand what the problem is, my hopes are that my patients will be more motivated to take care of themselves.
