Family Connects Helps Mom

*Rachel (name changed for anonymity) was a young teen with a new baby when she was approached by the Family Connects nurses.  As a young, teenage mother, Rachel did not have the resources, experience or knowledge of how to take care of an infant child. She felt frightened, timid, and unprepared. Fortunately, the nurses at Family Connects provided Rachel with the compassionate care, kindness, and infant education that she needed to build her confidence and take good care of her new baby. Nurse Salli from Family Connects remembered that a simple compliment and encouragement to Rachel for how she was taking care of her new baby made Rachel’s young face brighten into a smile.
