Scholarships
Scholarships could not have been made possible without the continued support of the Genesis Health Services Foundation donors. Genesis patients and their families benefit from having highly educated, skilled nurses to care for them.
Give to Nursing Education
The Genesis Foundation provides funding for nursing scholarships for Genesis employees wanting to obtain a nursing degree and Genesis nurses wanting to complete a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctorate degree in nursing, as well as an ASSET Scholarship Program for Children of Genesis Employees.
Opportunities:
Practice with Pride Nursing Scholarship
Up to $1,500 will be awarded to a Genesis Medical Center Davenport, Genesis Medical Center Silvis, VNA, Hospice or Genesis Health Group employee or volunteer to be used towards obtaining their initial RN degree. LPNs do not qualify for this scholarship.
Applications accepted year-round with selection process to occur quarterly after
committee review.

Degree Completion Nursing Scholarship
Up to $1,500 will be awarded to a Genesis Medical Center Davenport, Genesis Medical Center Silvis, VNA, Hospice or Genesis Health Group employee to be used toward the completion of their BSN, MSN or DNP degree. Nurse practitioner programs do not qualify for this scholarship.
Applications accepted year-round with selection process to occur quarterly after
committee review.

Auxiliary Seeding Student Education and Training (A.S.S.E.T.) Scholarship
This scholarship of at least $2,500 is for tuition or fees incurred in the pursuit of a two- or four-year undergraduate degree in healthcare, wellness, science, technology, engineering, math or related fields. Applicant must be a child, grandchild or legal dependent of a qualified Genesis employee.

Dr. Clarence and JoAnne Updegraff Physical Therapy Scholarship
The Dr. Clarence and JoAnn Updegraff Scholarship is awarded annually to one Physical Therapist employed by Genesis Health System. Scholarship is to be used for continuing education. Applicant must be a .8 FTE or higher Physical Therapist in good standing (no corrective action) with a minimum of 1 year employment with Genesis. This scholarship is awarded annually in December.

Mercer Foundation for Health Scholarship program offers financial assistance to current residents of Mercer County who are employed at a health care related or medical facility within Mercer County.
